I think most of us have been expecting news of the club being in a bad place financially for most of the season. Going full time for me was never an option until we had our own ground. Also Sheffield is not and probably never will embrace Rugby in either code. The new ground was just a figment of Richard Caborn's imagination which again many of us worked out months ago.
Will we still be around next seasons, part time and in Champioship 1?

We understand that many supporters of Sheffield Eagles are keen to help the club at this current time through donations, and this can be facilitated by the Include Foundation.
The Foundation is the charitable arm of Sheffield Eagles, with current players and Include coaches delivering grassroots rugby league initiatives in local schools and community.
All donations to the Foundation are put towards community projects, which go a long way to supporting the sustainability and growth of both the sport and Sheffield Eagles in the city. The Foundation can also claim 25% gift aid on donations.
Although the Foundation is affiliated with the Eagles, it is a separate organisation and is therefore not involved in the club's ongoing takeover discussion.

| News of the resignation of CEO John Whaling this afternoon,following a board meeting on Tuesday night,
has not done a lot to allay the feeling of impending doom.
The words of the outgoing skipper,Steve Thorpe,will probably not act as a magnet to players pondering whether or not to play for Sheffield Eagles in 2017.
I think I've had better days.
I'll just play my 'Fingers Crossed' album and hope that good luck and good news are just in temporary hiding.  |
