| We travel to the Select Security Stadium on Sunday to face the top seeded team in the Qualifiers, Widnes Vikings. They only beat Halifax by 14 at The Shay in round 1 but they're a different proposition on home turf, 'the plastic' as most know it. Will have the preview up in the next few days, all news articles leading up to the game can be put in here as well as the referee appointment from the RFL.
Prediction - Widnes by 22

| Oooooops.Sorry Dan.
Started a new thread without looking.(Must be punch drunk from Sunday)
Referee is James Child.
Could I ask you to terrify me please,by finding the home record 'on the plastic' for Widnes?
Our right side defence must improve as they will need to prevent their latest recruit Runciman and battering ram man Ah Van.

| I thought we lost key battles in every facet of the game on Sunday.
I'm a bit worried about the half back battle and the kicking game of Kevin Brown and the pace of Mellor - even though Widnes fans are doubting him - [url=http://www.wissl.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=14&sid=fa146613b8b15b93d4f3a84ffbba022dHERE[/url
[iMeanwhile, Betts will have the luxury to be picking from strength for this Sunday’s game against Sheffield Eagles in The Qualifiers.
Both winger Paddy Flynn and prop forward Eamon O’Carroll, who missed out on selection for last weekend’s 14-0 at Halifax, are likely to get a run out on Sunday.[/i

''So here's to you Cory Aston - Sheffield loves you more than you will know,oh,oh,oh'' - Paul Simon - Widnes railway station - Mrs Robinson tune all the rage in Manchester.( Yes I know it was Homeward Bound NOT Mrs Robinson.)
The players don't seem to want to turn so fast on the ipitch. We need some pace in the middle.

| Squads named as follows - with Rob back in and Kyle Briggs out-
Widnes Vikings Squad
Brown, Clarkson, Dean, Dudson, Flynn, Galea, Gerrard, Hanbury, Heremaia, Isa, Leuluai, Manuokafoa, Marsh, Mellor, Owens, Runciman, Tickle, White, Whitley
Sheffield Eagles Squad
Togagae, Turner, Yere, Smeaton, Worrincy, Brambani, Aston, Thorpe, Carlile, Stringer, Knowles, Straughier, Taulapapa, Walker, Battye, Davies, Davey, Tonks, Scott
I hope no one,of our players, has noticeable strapping around their thighs.
Despite Mr Betts being one of the longest lasting head coaches at the same Super League club - and their fans instructing how a certain club owner should invest in youth - it seems they have very much gone for experience.
Perhaps they don't believe in the Under 19's being ready for Super League Qualifier games.
Mr Betts does seem to have moulded a good blend of youth and experience.
It seems Gerrard has come through and Whitley is one more from the conveyor belt - [url=http://www.widnesvikings.co.uk/article/36506/finney-impressed-with-vikings-youngLinky Thingy[/url
Could be a classic.Go Cory...

| Listened to it on Radio Merseyside - not as much of a walk over as the score suggests watched the Leigh match at the same time looked to be more onesided than the score suggests. So four Championship sides well beaten - need to be much better as well as fulltime!!

Widnes Power Past Eagles - https://eaglehoop97.wordpress.com/2015/ ... st-eagles/
Pretty much as expected really. Brown and Mellor were both very good in the halves and we couldn't handle them. Showed a bit more fluidity in attack during the second half and probably deserved another try for our efforts but composure in attack, as well as general ball retention, does seem to be our downfall in these Qualifiers so far. Best wishes to MacGraff Leuluai and Steve Thorpe on their injuries, both looked nasty ones to say the least.

| A better performance than last week against a far better side.
Imperative that we now win the 3 home games - planning to get promoted once the new stadium appears may be folly looking at the way Leigh are going, despite their plans over previous years.
Aiming for 5th for the 'Million Dollar/Pounds Game' and the resulting publicity has to be the target as it seems Super League clubs will occupy the top 4 - but there is still lots of twists and turns to come.
I hope Steve Thorpe makes a full recovery.
A big well done for the vocal encouragement from the travelling supporters.
