| Last game on Sunday? if the Mail are right that's the two teams that are furthest away, (with the exceptions of the hundreds who will travel from Catalan) playing the last game nearly 300 miles away from home, in an empty stadium, late on a Sunday in mid winter with work next day!
We must be seen as the most resilent, passionate, hardy, and dedicated fans in the game!
Or MUGS!

Well, if that's the case, I am sure that non attendance of a lot more fans will become the reality.

Can't believe the RFL still havent realised why the numbers are dropping??? Maybe it's because its a weekend that just simply doesn't work nor never will due to a number of factors the biggest being the distance and cost for families to attend especially with people having less and less disposable income to play with.

| Quite happy if we are the last game as it means my interest will be kept till the end. Other weekends I have tended to slope of to the pub to watch the last couple of games or left early to make the long journey back.
Just dropped my deposit in for this weekend and looking forward to it already. At least the RFL are giving it a good chance this time with them being the opening fixtures, and I know personally by February I am starved of rugby and am raring to get watching again.

| It's not quite as bad in summer or spring.. But why play it in winter? Good luck to anyone that's going to sit through all the games and freeze their t!ts off

Because everyone is starved of rugby by that time and they have more chance of selling tickets. As for the weather February used to be one of the better months to watch it in before we switched to summer rugby.

It's never been the best weather when I've been, but they always close the roof and I remember Des Hasler and Widnes at the Boulevard !!!!!! somewhere like Old Trafford in June would be a better weekend, but Cardiff is a good weekend away on the plus side.

| Watching one game in winter is no problem but if you were to go for the full weekend experience as they try to sell it, I think there's a very good chance you would freeze your t!ts off..
They could make so much more of the weekend by having it at old Trafford in the middle of summer like the other poster said

| They could have it at OT but the whole idea behind the weekends is to promote the game to other people. Manchester area gets plenty of RL as it is.
