Classic case of the players around him not being on his wavelength. You can see how hard he is trying but the players around him don't respond. The same happened at Harlequins with Scott Hill.

Long just didn't get involved enough. Never looked hungry. We needed a big game from him, especially when we lost Horne to fullback. Washbrook was woeful at halfback.

Agreed. Yes he had a poor game, but Longy still is a class act. It will have hurt him tonight as much as anyone. My only hope is that we have a good replacement lined up for him after next season, maybe a youngster who he can mentor next season? Kyle Briggs?!!

Long is still a far better half back than Horne.
