I don't usually listen to Radio Leeds on principle, but just happened to change station after Sound of the Seventies and heard the presenter introduce an Interview with Matt Ellis.

Very good interview and refreshing to hear such optimistic talk after the doom and gloom of seasons past.
Nice to hear that he has plans for the west side including a possible stand with a rooftop garden of all things. It would seem his two main interests in life are "Easy Kitchens and Wakefield Trinty" to quote him.
He also seems quite confident of a future in Super League.

Plenty to take away and be positive from.

Taking our seats in the new stand on Sat and looking round at the brand new facility is still a bit surreal to me and probably many other who have put up with our crumbling stadium for too long to remember .I wasn’t too bothered about being stood on crumbling steps of the North stand with weeds taking a foothold at every opportunity, and out in the wet and cold when we had a team on the field that could provide us fans with some cheer. But last season when the going on field was dire I had chance to take my gaze away from the on field horrors and take it all in ,and it certainly wasn’t pretty to say the least . Move on 12 months , new East stand , plans for new Western stand ,, pipeline plans for North stand upgrades and the future is looking far rosier . Knight in shining armour , sugar daddy , whatever you want to call Matt we certainly have dropped on our feet with him at the helm ,because the dark clouds were looming large over Belle Vue , but almost in an instant sunny blue skies have returned over our club . Now I’m not saying for one minute there aren’t going to be tough times ahead ,and it’s obvious to see from Saturdays game that we have a long way to go to achieve our super league ambitions and once again become a force , but we’re on the right track with almost all the pieces of the jigsaw in place to be able to achieve that goal in the not too distant future .

Excellent post, listening to the interview we really are in a great place for the future. He does have the ambition and the clout to deliver. It looks like the ground will be a great place to be over the coming seasons. More ups than downs than the previous fairly barren years

It's the clout that counts.
We've had ideas before but he's actually able to do them.
