well, I dunno anything about club finance but seeing as nothing much has changed since he left, I suspect we wanted to keep him but he wasn't getting game time and chose to make a move himself, can't blame him for that.
I think the talk at the time that he was a bit of a spare part and we had cover one way or another anyway, has been well and truly clotched by the very fact we want him back because we just don't have cover.

I've got a lot of time for him, think he did a great job when Tom was injured 2 years ago, and I hope he does come back. But, from his point of view, why would he?! He knows if he's here next year, he isn't going to play is he, so he's back to square one personally! He's a proven Super league player, he's 26, he needs to be playing regularly, if I was him, i'd only come back with a 3 year deal in my pocket, and guaranteed a proper run of games......

With respect, he's in no position to demand that, and no one should be guaranteed game time. At best it will be a short term contract, who ever he would sign for, with a view to extend if it suited all parties.

Why do you think he left in the first place? He didn't want to be 3rd choice, so like I've said, why would you come back for 3/4 of a season, then to be in exactly the same predicament again?! You would be a bit daft wouldn't you. Well i'm pretty certain Rocky Hampshire only put pen to paper for last season on the proviso he got game time at scrum half? Now he finds himself at full back, but seems pretty comfortable with his role in the team......
