Just read the Chairman's utterances via the WE. Well why not have some more doom and gloom to inspire more season ticket sales - you're making it sound more like a closing down sale than a rescue. What a surprise no one is coming in for our players - perhaps they are following these kind of comments and waiting til we go bust then they get them for nothing. You've even told them that October is when the "sale" starts. Really motivating for the players and supporters.
But - it gets better - "I hope the fans expectations are not too high" and we should hopefully be in the top 12 just.
Please don't trot out the "telling the truth" line again! Can you not find anything positive to say? Get a grip and learn some PR skills. Presume beatings will continue until morale improves? And yes I have bought my ST.

A lot of what you say I agree and it's a fine line of telling some home truths & keeping certain things in house.

It's a steep learning curve and when you look at it we've gone from one extreme (Glover) to another (MC.)

We do need some positive news however to try & push ticket sales.

Do we think we are holding positive news back or something? Surely you can only put out there what is true, otherwise you're heading down the road of false hopes which could have more negative effects further down the line....plenty of positive news out there already out there if you ask me....we WILL be a super league team next year, our coach has just signed a 3 year deal, a very astute buisnesswoman Kath Hetherington is on board, as it stands at this moment in time we still have the nucleous of a squad who could go well next year with the right few additions, theres positive news with our youngsters etc, short of announcing we're to sign all 4 Burgess brothers what more can be put out there? It really is up to the fans to back the club how we are at present, which could then ultimately lead to better things....

upthecats - You should have written the press comment for the Chairman. If he started from your point We Will be a SL team etc then that it precisely my point. There is good news, positive efforts and good supporters. Accentuate the positive!

I don't think MC has done a bad job being honest although with hindsight i would like you. have liked to have seen the positives "pushed further"

I think what has been published IS positive. It is positively the way we are.
Sugar coating will not hide what everyone already knows. At least we all know our backs are to the wall and we are fighting again.
It's about time a business and practical approach was adopted.
