Someone told me there is no promotion or relegation in the Championship/Championship1 this coming season , surely this is wrong

I think you will find that at the end of the 2012 season IF two new clubs come in to Championship 1 then there will be two promoted from CH1 and no-one relegated from the Championship. Two more clubs are being talked about entering Championship 1 after 2013 and by 2015 and I believe the intention is to have a 14 team Championship by 2015.

RFL also looking at the "ply-off" structure so there may be no automatic promotion for champions from league 2 to 1

I think Keighley may have got out just in the nick of time.

I have heard it will become a franchise type of situation depending on various catagories such as facilities etc and not only playing performance.

That was what they were using to decree whether any of the applicants to join Championship One (Hemel Stags, Coventry Bears et al) were worthy of inclusion.

Seems a good idea. Premier Sports also hold the rights to the NRL regular season so plenty of good rugby to watch is you're prepared to pay.

We now have two seasons to get ready.
We have two years to build the club up.

We will need to use this time well to prepare our bid for SL.
