Hope they do rip in because it'll be the first time in a while if they do. I'm really looking forward to this one but we need to be sensible and admit it's not even a close 2nd in importance terms to the semi final the week after.

On that basis I'd probably go with a side along the lines of-

Hampshire, Charnley, Goulding, Gelling, Thornley, Green, Smith, Flower, McIlorum, Mossop, Tuson, Hughes, Lockers. Subs- Lauaki, Taylor, Burke, L Tomkins.

That feels about right to me.

The cup semi a week later, Saints having a shocking season and the fact league points don't count for much given the top 8 system, have all conspired to take the shine off this fixture. However, it is Saints so I'll be giving it some in the stands as usual and we know Wane will have the lads up for it. That worries me in a way, the last thing we want is to knock 7 bells out of each other then be too fatigued/injures to put London to the sword. With that in mind, line up wise I'd go:

Tell those fringe lads they are playing for a spot in a cup semi, and possibly a cup final thereafter, they might go for it a lot more than the first teamers who know they'll be in there.
