If this weather carries on like it is,which team will be happiest with what could be very heavy conditions ?.
I came over Barton Bridge this afternoon,and the Salford car park was a lake so I presume the R/L pitch was in a bit of a state as well.

Forecast lighter showers tomorrow with Thurs & Fri dry.

Depends how heavy the pitch is still, lets hope Sam has the right studs in!

You could look at a heavy pitch two ways:

Against us, affects Wigan attack - low scoring match.
For us, heavy pitch works the legs harder on Leeds players who played a crumper of a match last Friday.

Heres hoping our Landlord will allow the game to take place.

It may take more than a day to drain. The river is close to flooding over on to the car park, that could mean the roads at the back of the ground are closed. Even if it stops Wednesday or Thursday it depends how quick the river levels drop.

If the roads don't get any better whats gonna happen? surely the game can't go ahead at the DW if half of the surrounding roads and carparks are flooded?

dunno....but rains forecast all next week as well.......so if it doesnt get played friday, not much prospect of playing it there this side of the GF

The RFL should just put us through anyway if that is the case. We finished top and are Wigan Rugby League after all.

VERY flooded at Asda and the saddle now and apparently at Wallgate and Martland Mill.

Been quite nice in East Landun. Was raining goals mind.

We could always ask Leeds if the match could be played at Headingley,I don't think they would mind.

You could play at the LSV, only trouble it wouldn't be big enough for Wigan v Leeds, and you like coming to the LSV don't you Brian.

I certainly do like going to the LSV Ian. I am now having second thoughts about my suggestion of moving the match to Leeds (was done in jest),the powers that be at R/L headquarters and at Sky will be pouring over the small print now,hoping to find a clause that would make it possible.
