Following our media launch event at Australia House last Wednesday, we would like to share a message from Gary Hetherington regarding the start of a new era of London Broncos.
Good Afternoon,
If you attended the event with us on Wednesday, I would like to thank you and hope you found it informative. I am writing to you to highlight the immediate priorities and some exciting initiatives in the near future.
Immediate Priorities
Squad Strengthening Many of last season’s Super League squad left to join other teams and so this season’s squad was seriously weakened and the Club have been operating on a shoestring budget so it's no surprise results have been disappointing and we need to reverse this trend by strengthening the squad as soon as possible! We hope to bring announcements in the coming days.
Improved Attendances We need to improve home game attendances to generate more income and create a vibrant atmosphere for the team and I know the players will appreciate it.
Improve the Club’s Grading Score
Results on the field and improved attendances are crucial, along with new investment from shareholders and sponsors, and will assist our target to achieve 15 grading points and a Grade A licence. At the end of 2024 London were ranked in 14th place with 12.65 points.
Membership Scheme We are looking to launch new Membership Schemes and attract all our current fans, those we may have lost and new ones too! This will not only provide the club with some income but also enable it to communicate regularly.
Upcoming Initiatives
Partnership with DKMS The London Broncos take on Bradford Bulls for the final home game of the season on Sunday 7th September and will feature a special appeal for Stem Cell Donors as part of the DKMS Charity. Full details will be released in due course.
Away Day Excursion to York in August We will be sharing a proposal for our away game in August in the hope of attracting enough fans to come together for a special weekend in York! Package includes travel, accommodation, meals and match tickets. If you are interested, please email Lynsey for full details.
Special Third Kit announcement For our upcoming home game against Widnes Vikings on May 31st we will be wearing a brand new third kit. The kit was launched on Saturday 23rd May on social media channels with the shirt available to buy at the Widnes game.
Fan Forum I would like to invite you to a fan forum with me at AFC Wimbledon on Monday 9th June from 7pm with a Q&A from 7:30pm. Register for a free ticket here.
We are keen to hear any suggestions from our fans about any issue connected to the Club, so please feel free to let us have yours by emailing lynsey.coleman@londonbroncosrl.com
(I wasn't up to reading the original email from the club because it was centre-aligned. Sad, I know. But maybe someone at the club should invest in the Ladybird book of design principles... I am fully aware this is in no way a priority at the moment, but it still gets on my wick!)
