| A more simple poll this time, and I wonder if opinion has changed since the last one. Should Powell vacate/be relieved of his position of Head Coach at the end of the season?

| I do think he should go at the end of the season, but I don't see the point of changing now. I'd like to see him stay on 'til then, before reverting to assistant under a new head coach.

Good point re: timing, I will edit.

| He will learn from this season. Give him chance to regroup, refresh, make some signings and come back next season. Every other team in the league recruited so much better than Quins this year.

| While I would tend to agree with the above from Bull Mania, I think the relevant point someone raised somewhere in the past, was that because he (Powell) is relatively young and inexperienced, he won't 'know people who know people', and thus will never receive a tip about a rising star in foreign climes. As a mere spectator I obviously know sod all about the game, let alone the politics/rules/management of a club aspect, but I can't help thinking this may be true and that the likes of Noble, Millward etc are better suited to running a top level club. No offence, anybody.

| He doesn't inspire confidence, but I would keep him on as assistant as he seems to be good enough to do that role.

| This is weird coz I was thinking I would put something like this up last night. Time to go, we don't have time to gamble to see whether he will get better with better players.

we haven't got beeter players yet and very few of the names mentioned inspire me to believe we will get them.

| If we can replace him with a coach the calibre of someone like Daniel Anderson then yes.
If we are planning to replace him a coach the calibre of Mark Aston (Sheffield coach who rejected us last year) then no.

| Players will be less likely to play for a coach who doesn't seem to be at SL level yet, rather than a rookie coach.
It wasn't given to Rob Powell at the end of last season so he was never the first choice on David Hughes' list, but he does seem to be an adopted son of London Rugby League and I think he should have a role at the club, but I wouldn't trust him to get the most out of recruitment when the offer of a London contract is put to a player and I also wouldn't back Powell to get the most out of any signing that we do make if he does remain in the top job.
The network of coaches at the decent levels is threadbare in London so we should be proud that someone has come through the London system, from amateur to the top job, but we should also make a business decision and say that there are better people to make use of the rumoured ramp-up in spending on player wages.
