I just don't like this seven tackles on the 20m restart after trying to put in a precision kick.With the intensity of the game,it's difficult to get it right in the first place.Even Ryan Hall didn't realize when he caught the ball with one foot in the in goal area and then got 7 tackles (zero tackle) with a 20m restart. It is taking the chance of trying to have a skill kicking game away as there is no incentive.You might as well just give your opponents the ball on their line and let them start there with 6 tackles. As far as the other rules go, I have no problem with them. |

Can anyone clarify the ruling on that scenario? I thought the ruling stated the ball has to be in the in-goal area to be deemed dead. |

I don't know, I'm only stating what happened last night. I actually think it was because the ball didn't touch the ground beforehand,and he caught it on the full with one foot just inside the in goal area. |

So am I right in saying if the ball had of bounced beforehand it was still live.Yet really speaking in that scenario all he would have to do is step behind the line completely collect the ball and still given zero 7 restart. Bad kick all round if that is the case.

If it reduces the relentless high kick in the corner on the last tackle I'm all for it, the tries are often a lottery and my least favourite try in any game no matter who scores it.

=#FF00001. Yes, and it's play on.
=#4000FF2. Only if it's on the full. You can have one foot, or both feet behind the try line, and if you catch it on the full you will be rewarded with a 20m restart and 7 tackles. |

Fair enough. One thing to remember is, if the ball goes dead,either with a grubber kick,or even a missed drop goal,it will be a 20m restart with 7 tackles. TBH - I think the best probable option would be a grubber kick hoping to capitalize on it with a try, or force a drop out. |
