Leigh Miners u18s won there second game of the season after substitute winger Daryl Devlin grabbed the match winning try to take miners up to fourth in the NWC Premier Division. It wasn't miners greatest performance of the season but the lads dug deep and ground out a 14-10 victory against a big Thatto outfit.Miners other trys were scored by Hayden Skinkis and Jonathan Grimshaw,Sam Shepard kicking the goal.
Next week miners are at home to Rylands Sharks in the NWC Cup round 2 kick off to be confirmed. It sure to be another close game after miners narrowly lost on the opening day of the season away at Rylands 20-16.
Leigh Miners u17s 4 v 38 Wigan St Pats
Miners are still searching for there first victory of the season after going down 38-4 at home to Wigan St Pats. There was plenty of effort and commitment from all the lads the same as previous weeks and it can only be a matter of time before the miners grab there first win of the season in which they would fully deserve. Centre Danny Tyrer scored miners try.
Next week miners are at home to Orrell St James kick off to be confirmed. when both teams met a few weeks ago Orrell narrowly won 10-6.
