My two young children and I have just got back from the GF. As fanatic wire fans it was my worst nightmare, but we still went as it had been paid for a good few weeks ago. We went with the kids club which is mainly wigan fans. Not even half time and we were subjected to a torrent of abuse from some of the so called younger ADULTS from the club just because we were wearing warrington tops, one of these ADULTS has just signed for warrington (not B C ). This distressed my children so much we left early and had to find our way home on two trains and a taxi because they didn't want to go home on the coach with these so called fans. What makes this worse is that i'm a woman (not that anyone should have been spoke to that way). I can take friendly banter like everyone else but this was much more, it was like they resented us from going to THEIR game even though we are part of their club. It has just re-enforced my view that even though you can't tar everyone with the same brush Wigan fans are the worst I have come across in my years watching the wire.

That does sound disgraceful. I think there is alot to be said for winning with grace, aswell as losing with it. Some idiots just can't help themselves. Whatever is happening to the game we love.

Every fan has a story about every team (I had one last week against Leeds). Sorry you had to deal with that, its an unfortunate aspect thats crept into our game, particularly in finals. There always a minority.

I know every club has these idiots but what really upset me was the fact that we were all part of the same amateur club. What a great lesson to teach my kids

Society as a whole is going backwards, forget <insert club>, people seem less able to behave at a mass gathering of anything.

When some despot finally decides to push the button and wipe us all out will he really be doing the world a disservice?

so the fact is that come sunday you will have to see these idiots again if im correct. What you should do is contact the secretary of the club and make it known that you are far from happy about the disgraceful way some of the others behaved. Don't know what will come of it though?

It seems some of them didn't observe the minutes silence either! Credit to the saints fans who kept quite but there seemed to be a lot of noise coming from the wiganers behind the sticks, disgraceful!

Had some Wire fans behind us in the heavens of the North-East stand wearing Saints scarves, they were rather quiet all night.

there's always a minority who cloud the reputation of most rl fans. it's really bad to hear that, but some of my friends from saints
who went to the game said the wigan fans as a whole (99.99) were superb.

whoever the plonkers were from whatever club should be ashamed for spoiling the minutes silence. No doubt caused by too much booze...maybe a 3 pm kick off would be the answer so fans would have less time to get pished ,but that will never happen unless sky decide to change their schedule.

In that case it sounds like the issue you have should be taken up by the club your children play for. I am sure they wouldn't want to be associated in anyway with such behaviour.

Me and 3 others attended the game wearing our Wire tops..Went into the city centre,Sam Platts bar near the ground and then on to the match..

All in all had a great day good banter with both sets of fans..Got the odd W***Y Warrington chant thrown at us but i expect that now and when you laugh it off they soon stop...

Didn't see any major trouble just a few being ejected from the Saints end...
