| If as seems to be the case there is significant new investment or ownership of the club just around the corner what changes would people honestly like to see?
First if we did say miraculously see Salford spending the full cap next season (I can't figure out why there has been no signings announced other than waiting to see if the small budget we currently have will be scrapped in favor of an increased one) would people be happy to see PV stay in charge? I don't doubt he is talented but if you think about it this season we have achieved what we did going forward and think pretty much everyone excepts that this is Longs doing. With the decision on franchises looming on the horizon again could we afford to let someone with no great experience of bringing in top players (our best player let's not forget was signed by Parish) rather than getting someone more used to working with them?
Not saying PV isn't capable just I have a slight niggling doubt to why the team failed to perform as well in defense as they did in attack.
Think anyone who invests or takes over the reigns at the club needs to invest money in the marketing side, would undoubtedly lead to short term loses but if done right would over time begin to pay dividends. Also someone with a ruthless business accumen needs to be brought in to run the club and not have any affiliations to people currently at the club. There's no need investing in processes and people who clearly don't produce the goods and have been given ample time to already to prove themselves.

| I think one of the main reasons we lacked progress in defense is the fact that we did not have a solid forward base that would drive defensive efforts. All the coaching in the world wont make up for the fact that our forwards were our weak spot this season. I think we would be stupid to get in another face so soon after PV getting the job anyway. Personnel changes in coaching positions cause all kinds of different reactions throughout the player-base, not all of which can be positive. I think PV and Long are the perfect team for us at the moment. Both hungry after being given an opportunity, both winners, and both highly respected. It would be nice to see what they can do with a full cap.
Whether we ever see a full cap side take to field is another question.
I agree, MR, that the stuff off the field needs to be honed and sorted. Although, to be fair, maybe the reason we struggle sometimes is exactly the same reason as why the team under performs. Personnel and money.
It would be nice to see some money and hope come into the Club at the moment. It would change everyone in the blink of an eye.

| For me the money would be best spent bringing the club up to standard as a professional sports club. The whole backroom staff needs to be looked at and rather than mates/family having the jobs lets make sure we have the best people in there.
If Phil stays then make sure he has the coaching staff assistants he needs, if that means bringing in a defensive specialist so be it.
Next we need to ensure recruitment is team based, make sure they fit with what we already have and that they are the type we need. No more moaning players.

| According to the `ull board. The contract was cancelled by mutual consent. In other words , we must have owed him some money, but we couldnt afford to pay him, so the two clubs have reached an agreement over who pays him.

| I have heard you are looking at a loan type of investment from PROBIZ (current sponsors of Cas Tigers and Fev Rovers).

I sincerely hope not! Loans attract interest and have to be paid back - IMHO the type of investment Salford needs is an equity partner with serious management skills, if all we can raise is a loan to keep us scraping along that would not really be progress

| I cant think that Probiz will lend money to Salford or ANY Super League club without substantial Personal Guarantees/Security/Debentures. As Barton said - we need equity capital not Loans.
