I play touch as its the closest thing out there to league for a bloke in his 40s who doesn't want to get smashed.

I prefer tag myself. As a bloke in his late 40s this is more suitable as it's a bit slower than touch and allows you to still be able to compete with people half your age.

We have no strategy for developing the game internationally - Great Britain / England/ do I play for Wales if I can’t challenge myself against the Kangaroos? We rightly praise the Pacific Island teams efforts over the last few years but the grandfather rule will catch up with us if we do nothing else.
On the club front our “development strategy” is to drop our proverbials for any chancer flashing some cash, whether that be the Denver Test or the Wolfpack, with no plan on how to capitalise on these even in the medium term. Oh and have one up one down but perhaps not want that one team to come up, but we won’t say until the week before.
Don’t get me started on overplaying our greatest asset the players by having loop fixtures to eek out the miserable returns from our lousy marketing efforts just about since the launch of Super League. We still play twice over Easter for Gords sake and gloss over the poor quality of the games for at least a 3 week period because of it.
Yet I love this game more and more and am prepared to do whatever I can to further it’s cause!

Not sure if I have my facts correct but isn’t touch rugby in the Southern Hemisphere run as part of the ARL? Or have they given up organising it? Or have I been having weird dreams again?

They have Nrl club teams and origin.
