I've no idea why an NRL club would seriously look at Myler. Decent support player and quick but not creative enough I reckon.

I still think there's a decent player in there with Myler. I'm not saying it's all down to Smith or Warrington not using him right but I don't think the seemingly constant chopping and changing of the halves, where Ratchford/Monaghan is playing etc has helped.

I also reckon he was possibly put under a bit too much pressure at a young age.

Having said that, it's up to him now to prove how good he is whichever club he's at next year.

He went from being the main organiser and general at Salford to being a support act at Warrington, and even though he's been surrounded by better players I think it's had a detrimental effect on his game, and he's become more one dimensional. Maybe a spell in the NSW/QLD cup for a year or 2 maybe exactly what he needs at this point in time to refine his weaknesses and become the well rounded playmaker he looked like he was becoming at Salford.

He had a good four seasons alongside Briers before this and last season and he never really developed from the prospect he looked at Salford. I do think he's a decent player though and hope we keep him I think there is still potential for development in there and he's still a good few years away from his peak.

And yes, he is up for renewal.

No chance of an NRL contract for Mediocre Myler, no matter how clever his agent Andrew Purcell is. The NRL is only interested in quality, and Richie doesn't have that.
