Structure yes, a top 8 playoff in a league of 12? No!

It's not really a top 8 playoff though, it's top 4. The bottom 4 go early yes, but do they really have much chance of reaching the 4 anyway?

No, they have no chance realistically unless 4 and 5 are very close

can you not change the question? its like on sky sports it asks are you happy with the structure with the league going to 12, which i am but i am far from happy about the system.

The new structure is, seemingly a package, all or nothing.

As can be seen from the second post, too many people haven't looked at the details themselves. At the moment its like the blind leading the blind. So much misunderstanding of what is actually going to happen. Clue don't listen to the bum twitching Widnes fans

It's a top 4 playoff.

There are many reasons why I disagree with it such as ST issues and how the whole thing is to be funded but the main one for me is that even though the 2nd tier is to receive an increase in funding in order to close the gap between themselves and the top tier, it is not going to solve the problem of the bottom 4 teams from the top tier being accustomed to playing at a higher and faster standard than the top 4 from the 2nd tier, and I doubt that 7 games is going to be enough for the 2nd tier teams to get up to speed.

But only 1 of those 2nd tier teams needs to beat 2 SL teams to be certain of promotion.

I think that should be possible given the cap increases and general sporting randomness.

The RFL need to promote the schit out of it now.

the game is screwed for the next few years but at least it might be the major meltdown it needs to clear the decks and start again with something stronger and more sustainable.

All this structure will do will screw the weakest SL clubs we have now, see less English players having the opportunity to play FT RL and give a sniff of one year of glory to some small town club. Such a shame the game in England continues to fial to reach its potential.
