Quote Allez="Allez"As has been said elsewhere, you can see from NB's demeanour yesterday that he is as frustrated as anyone. He is not telling players to go out and be pussycats, make unenforced errors and throw games away is he? Anyone who thinks a change of coach, within the current culture of alleged player power , would change anything is utterly deluded IMO. You [uHAVE[/u to have the coach as the authority - what he says goes. If that doesn't exist you may as well bring in Jesus for all the good it would do.'"
Whilst agreeing that the players must have within them motivation & a certain level of aggression, some responsibility for creating a culture of motivation & aggression within the playing staff must fall onto the coach.
Additionally, our tactics under Brown are all over the place.
We use players like Sia & Manu driving it in up the middle as cannon fodder, when we should be seeing them hitting the fringes. If opposition teams then load up defences wider to combat this, it weakens the centre of the pitch.
Our line speed at Saints has never been great (even under IM & DA), but we're now being shown up with it and it's costing us the momentum in games.
We have a very good halfback in Walsh, but we've quickly become overly reliant on him. Its like players aren't taking responsibility to create things themselves, just thinking "Walshy'll sort us out"
Roby is being played into the ground. He's our top tackler, and putting in 80 mins a week. As a result, he looks jaded and half the attacking threat of a player he was. He needs to be used more intelligently.
