I wonder if Saints will pay tribute to the town's main industry by having it done in glass? It would retain the look, AND protect supporters from the elements at the same time.

Enclosing the stadia would dramatically increase the windload on the structure. Seems strange that Barr would allow for that in their inital design calcs, if wasn't part of the original design.

That's why the cladding is going to be full of holes. It won't be all the way to the roof either but there will be a gap between it and the roof to allow for wind resistence.

I'm feeling clad all over, as Dave Clark 5 once sang

Most structures are designed with the view of additions to size and adaptations, the cross bracing used on the structure would easily transfer the increased wind loads subjected by the new cladding.

Not sure where this thing about the Allianz arena has crept in, i'm almost certain the perforated cladding to be used on the Saints stadium is nothing like that of the facade of the Allianz.

I dont know where people are getting this 'halo' mullarkey from it looks nowt like a halo and more like Dora the explorers head.
