Some dispicable comments on social media and to some extent on here about him.
He seems to be getting the stick because jack walker as not signed, think it's pretty dispicable that people are ganging up on him just because there new toy won't play ball.

The lads 20 in his first year as number 1 and has had some injuries this year.

I first saw the lad play against the Aussie school Boyer at 17 and he was the best player in the field. His defence this year has been world class at times, his attack needs to improve but that will come.

Spot on, you've got some people slamming Leeds for hanging out Walker to dry but then at the same time absolutely slating Golding with abuse. It wasn't so long ago that people were saying we needed to tie this lad down to the club because he was quality and as mentioned now they've seen a shinier newer toy they want to kick Golding to the curb.

What if we only offered him a short deal and he turned it down and Walker still didn't sign his? Golding's length of contract is an excuse from the Walker camp because it doesn't guarantee Golding will keep a starting place over that course.

And let's not forget Golding is with Show Me The Money also so the same guy got him that deal. For him to let Walker say publicly that it's Golding's length of contract that is the issue and throw him under the bus is disgusting from SMTM. Hope Golding ditches them when he can.

Yep. There's definitely an obsession among Leeds fans, and RL fans in general with 'the future'. We're always talking about the next player to come through the academy, We have Golding who's in his first season, and is only 20 being written off in favour of a 17 year old boy with less than 10 senior games. Golding struggled when he first came into the team, and was moved around a fair bit. He was written off after making a few mistakes last year, but he's improved out of sight, and is probably only 2nd to Hardaker in terms of defense. He has to drastically improve his attack, but he's already proven he's willing to knuckle down and work on his game, and has shown great character to come back from some of the set backs he's had to face whilst playing in a few different positions. To me, he's already shown he has all the mental and physical toughness you need to make it at this level. He's earned his place in the team, and deserves time to develop.

The club should not have made the announcement they did, it was wrong. That was not Ashton Golding problem, or indeed Jack Walkers. All the announcement did is put extra pressure on him now, and could have created a rift with the players, at the same time as question the attitude wrongly of another. Then at that same time they then play the lad out of position, and of course people jump on it. Fans are fickle, that's what happens. Haven't seen game to judge, but think the lad has done enough to warrant a couple of downers not to write him off.

Well for a young lad to have Senior's song doctored to his name says to me the fans are well and truly on his side

I don't get all this about Walker and Golding. Golding looked a really good player until he got injured and now because we have seen Walker what 6-7 times, everyone is now saying Golding should do this and that or is rubbish. If Golding wouldn't have got injured most wouldn't know about Walker and would be more than happy with Golding.

I don't want Walker to leave but we can easily live without him. Until 10 weeks ago he wasn't even considered a first team player. Good luck to him, am well over it, now time to get behind our future FB who will give anything for this club.

Exactly one of the reasons why I criticise people for rumour spreading because you aren't helping the club or situation, only yourselves. That must be more important to you though.

So you accept the club are unprofessional? I mean come on, it would be hypocritical to complain about someone anonymous on an internet message board for saying something, but not the club for making public statements across a wider media.

I only corrected what others were wrongly saying. That's a big difference. I think the clubs position was aimed more at an agent than a player, but didn't think it through on the outcome of players.

You more than anybody are responsible for the action Leeds took and you go then criticise them for doing it? Are you honestly deluded? Do you think showing that you're 'In The Know' is more important than the club?

All you've done in this saga is make the situation worst and the thing is you don't even realise it. You think you're providing some sort of service spreading this stuff.

Hang on a minute here, come off the high horse and explain. Let's go back a step. The club put an announcement out on Wednesday yes? This was after final negotiations, in their view, with a player. The same announcement about previous discussions of two months ago.

On here over weeks before that announcement, it was stated that his agent is touting him around, after an initial derisory offer from the club, and as a result had four other offers that could not be made personally to the player until August, but had to be through his agent. With that came discussion of skills development.

What in those so called "rumours" would warrant any professional club to make an announcement? Especially considering as you well know, the announcement wasn't about that, it was about the final offer they have made and so called demands at that which not only effect the player "allegedly" asking, but another none related player.

Nothing was said on that final meeting on this board or any other message board, until the club made their announcement.

Come on, pretty poor form to declare the club was forced to do something because the fact their original mistake was put out there, made them do something else. I don't think for one minute you really believe that. This thread was about Golding and the issue with fickle fans having a go. The point is still clear, the club highlighted that by the way it handled its business. Do you really believe people would be having a go about Golding had the club just kept its business in house? Please remember this board is a minority of Rhinos supporters out there, a lot at games don't even know of its existence.

All we need now is the next poster who set up a thread last year calling for Golding never to play in a shirt again coming in as usual.
