I only want to watch Rugby league,I have a slight passing interest watching Ru on TV.Two different codes .Where do they want this to go? a 3rd code?or a RU and RL to be unified?otherwise whats the point?

I'm not sure what you can do to merge the rules. Whatever you do around kicking, scrums, the ball going out of play, points scoring, number of players, there is always one key difference: What happens when a player is tackled? We need our quick re-cycle, RU needs it's contest for possession/pile-on.

You could say whats the point about a lot of things, however I dont think this is the birth of a new code, more of an appreciation for both codes and the regard that is held between 2 different sets of players.



Guess we'll have to wait and see. GH seems interested, and Ill gladly trust his judgement.

I think quite alot of people will be intrigued to see how this pans out. Exhibitions in any sport are are always interesting.

From the link, it suggests the conversation was in Oz. Does this mean the game would be versus an Oz RU team? A super 15 team? Or an Aviva Prem team?

The point from Leeds view is of raising their profile which is fair play to them, whether it would or not I'm not sure though it depends just how much these hybrid rules are split 50/50. If the rules favour the Union boys too much because Union is the bigger sport nationally and worldwide it could end up a damaging exercise. If its a fair split and Leeds won it couldn't do us any harm.

For me, when I try to come up with a game that takes the best parts of both games, I end up with pretty much rugby league. However, for this I will try again

No ball stripping rule

So it could mean that it may have been turned down by NRL teams

Do you mean there should be a rule against ball stripping or the ball stripping rule that we've got in league should be scrapped?

Brent Webb's angle of passing would be very suited to the dark side.

Meh, no benefit to league from this circus, just drawbacks.
