When I saw the title of the thread I was immediately thinking a player from years gone by had passed away, but to then open it and read that apparently this news is now classed as sad, really does sadden me!!
The man has committed a crime, pleaded guilty and will be sentenced accordingly.
I see no reason for anyone to come on here offering their sympathy or support.

If anyone feels any sympathy for Mr Barlow for the latest in a string of indiscretions then they really need to have a look at themselves and think about "examples to younger generations".

Steve look at the thread on Ross Divorty. There is lots of love for him and rightly so. Penky and Bob Beswick get no stick from over here as do most other ex Fax players.

Well it seems my comments have brought out some different thoughts, one tells me to have a look at myself descending into the usual nastiness from one telling me to "get my head out of SAMs a-se"
Well I still say it's sad. It's sad that it's happened it could have been managed better by both parties.
That's my humble opinion.
I also think it's sad that some posters seem to feel it necessary to be rude and ill mannered.

John as always you are a True Gent,who always gives his opinion on matters in life and Rugby, I take folk as I find them , as you seem to do,I've met Sam B on a couple of occasions and found him a very pleasant you man,obviously he loves to wind opposition fans up, in the way Fax's Andy Bracek does, I find Andy a very nice young man as well,there's no malice in either bloke

Halifax John. Whilst I empathise with you, you did expect the comments, and I agree there is no call for written abuse, would they have said it to your face?
As for the Sam issue, the papers are full of people being charged for 'looking after themselves ' whilst in their own homes. I am not saying he was wrong or right,however as a full time sportsman he should be aware of the snide tactics employed by certain sections of the governing body. Also Sam is no stranger to courting controvsy, and really should have known better, let's face it he is not a stranger to Red Hall.
I do agree that the D E A could, should be more professional in their treatment of all sportspeople, and be regulated to act as a responsible body and made accountable themselves.
Sorry to agree with others about the headline though.
