Bitterly disappointing result, and I think that has probably burst our bubble somewhat. When it comes to it we just don't seem to have the nouce to prevail in close games, Wigan aside, and perhaps it won't be a bad thing if we finish 7th, 8th after a season of flirting with the play offs. We are on a journey and too much too soon could see us get too giddy and expect more than where we're at as a team. We don't want flash in the pan seasons anymore followed by struggle.
Shocking loss and performance and Powell for the first time looked genuinely angry and annoyed by it. I think it’s because he knows we set our standards much higher than that.
I’m don’t buy into too much too soon. Go for broke and see how high you can go as much as possible in sport. No holding back and you go to win every challenge and game. No loss or missing out will do us good especially when we are in a position to get into the playoffs in final 3rd of season.
Expectation should be raising and performances justify that to date so I have no issue with fans getting giddy. Nobody is saying we are going to romp into the final and being outlandish. That’s probably why after a performance like that there are so many dissapointed. That was a game we should have gone on to win.
