Ball retention, you can't coach that, we keep throwing the game away

Sammut must play in the next match as must Johnstone.

Not sure one man will make a difference though

Terrible ball retention and you can't give a team 18 points start. We were chasing the game from the first minute.

Its not shampagne rugby is it dudes

Now that gave me a wry smile.


But at times I do despair.

Whilst we were trying to score on every tackle in the second half and coming up with mistakes aplenty, all the giants did was play the percentages and wait for us to make a mistake and then capitalise on it. Why Hall threw that pass at the end on our own line when we were already dead and buried beggars belief.

Having got back into the game after an atrocious start, we somehow managed to end up losing by 30 points with the giants never having to get out of 1st gear.

When we get to the middle 8 stage we will struggle to beat anyone if we can't do the basics properly.

to be fair, we were pretty poor for the majority of that game, our ball retention was pitiful at times, we had the game won in the first 10 minutes then rested up and started throwing silly passes, dropping balls giving away penalties etc.

at 18-14 you were on a roll and i feared for us, we shouldn't have been in that situation but we don't seem to learn.

luckily we were too good in the end, but be honest, like us with warrington, do you really expect to win these games?

It's not losing its the manner of the defeat and the size of it that is the most concerning thing considering you didn't play anywhere near your potential

To be honest before the score to make it 24-14 there was only one team going to win. True Huddersfield bombed three chances in the first half but the momentum was with Trinity. A Hall knock-on on the half way line the daft passes gave that away and Huddersfield lapped up the errors as Trinity imploded. It wasn't the superior ability that won you the game.

At this scoreline, I thought we could have got our noses in front.
