Planning to decorate my offices with a load of Wigan stuff from about the 19th to show our support - or is this kind of thing a bit passe these days?

I remember as a supporter in the 80s and into the 90s, whenever Wigan got to Wembley, all the shops would have Cherry & White stuff in them, and good luck messages. It would be nice to re-create that, I think.

Many of my childhood Wembley memories in the 90's was seeing the town centre shop windows decorated with cherry and white ribbons, balloons and good luck signs.

Now people tend to be wary of upsetting the football side of the town.

Stuff that. This is Wigan Rugby and they're my team, so if the latics lot get offended, then sorry, but that's their call.

I hope other businesses do the same. Would be great to have a great big beautiful Cherry & White town for that week wouldn't it?

I now, however, have two framed autographed Wigan shirts (one from this year and one from 1994) that are going to take pride of place in my new house when I finally get it.

Would latics fans really be offended? I get the sense that both sides are getting a bit weary of the feud. They had their big day when they stayed in the Premier League and this is our big day. If we are to have the town decked out in cherry and white again just like the old days can we also have a big 1980's style Wigan Lane ram-sammy should we win complete with a tour of the pubs by officials, players and a Challenge Cup spilling over with bitter, lager, mild & associated slops for all to drink from!

Has to be done - I used to decorate by Bedroom window as a kid it must have looked tacky as cack but I was allowed and was always so proud!! (was front of house too)

I'd urge everyone to do that, especially if they live on a main road.
