Well, it would seem that the Burgess experiment is now on its last legs. So where do we go next?
We are running out of plays in the coaching department.
promising coach from Australia (price) - FAIL excellent English coach who never really got a chance at a big club (Powell) - FAIL Up and coming you coach with a bit of x factor - FAIL
One things that's obvious is that the people doing the recruitment of our players should be removed straight away. We are truly dreadful in that department.
So what do we need?
1. The coach probably needs to be Shaun Wane. Maybe he has had enough time being bored by international rugby now. Could we see him ever coach outside of Wigan though? We should certainly be testing that loyalty. if not.... McNamara is probably the leading candidate (as hard as that is to type). 2. Someone who can sign a half decent player. I dont know anything about who truly does this at our club, but they SUCK.
On the plus side we do have some excellent young players and seem to bring plenty through now.
It's an absolute poop show again though isnt it.... fail after fail after fail.... its so tiresome.
Perhaps there will be quite a few of these cast offs coming over when the NRL template is in place. At least there a plenty of last chance saloons over here.
Wane, isn’t the answer to the problems at the club. Wane’s loyalty to his beloved Wigan, makes me believe he wouldn’t be to bothered about wire and sorting the club out.. I’d take Brad Arthur over Wane. Or look at Rowley and with group of youngsters wire have, Rowley will get us playing a brand rugby which us fans are going to love. The problem is rugby league coaches at the top level are like white dog poo, hard to find now a days. I’d even take a punt on Hasler once the Titans release him
Never liked the fella but he seems to have mellowed with age and has done a wonderful job with Salford and plays eye-catching rugby - I wouldn't complain if we went for Rowley. Players seem to like him and he's willing to move players on who aren't up for the cause even when he's desperate for bodies.
