| Is it just me or as anybody else been told this more than once keep hearing it from good sources, if it's true this is an absolute steel I know his wages will be sky high but he is undoubtedly the best half back In super league.
If I was a cas fan I'd feel slightly robbed as its peanuts for a current international who could undoubtedly walk into any side in super league.
I see the haters have been out already saying apart from rangi and smith all the rest are average hock is by a mile one of the best two second rowers in super league too. It'll be one hard pack that next year, also rapira I think will be a top addition he's another hard honest player if we can keep him fit, honestly I'm pretty excited for next season as a lot of people are writing us off but I can guarantee we will be there or thereabouts. Also if we could emulate Huddersfield who I'm full of respect for they have done exceptional without spending loads of money on Aussies etc most of there team is British which I'd like one day but beggers can't be choosers

| It's definitely true. I remember saying at the time it wouldn't be as high as some people were making out. Bargain.

| There were offers on the table from other clubs one made public at £250k - so why would they then accept an offer for 112K ?

"but despite rejecting a Warrington offer of around £300,000, the Tigers are expected to accept a higher bid from Wigan. That is likely to make the deal one of the five most valuable in rugby league history. It is expected to fall below the fees of around £440,000 for which Wigan signed Martin Offiah from Widnes in 1992, and Stuart Fielden from Bradford six years ago, but may rival the £370,000 St Helens paid Warrington to sign Paul Sculthorpe in 1997."

| That article is from 2012, his value will have deprecated due to less time left on his contract. Though that's a lot of deprecation!

That doesn't appear to be either club going public, that appears to be a journalist suggesting what they think was turned down.

Yeah i take you point, and can see where your coming from with the decrease in value as the contract comes closer to expiry date. But Lets be honest nobody really knows what you have payed for Chase and if this is true it is VERY poor business on castlefords behalf - 12 months pass and an offer that they were expecting around 400k turns into 100k ?
Very poor business by castleford if true.
