I never complain to a broadcaster but that shambles made my blood boil so I did complain to dear old Auntie Beeb
Heres the reply.....
The best part of the reply is the 36 Hours live coverage in 2013.
Woopee fkin doo
Thanks for getting in touch with us regarding Richard Bacon’s BBC Radio 5 Live programme, broadcast on Monday 22nd April.
We note you feel the quality of the Rugby League cup draw was poor and comments made by Richard could be seen as offensive to fans.
The team have asked us to personally thank you for getting in touch and to assure you that BBC Radio 5 Live and sister station BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra are absolutely committed to coverage of Rugby League.
They explain that thus far in 2013, the stations have broadcast some 36 hours of live coverage of the sport and that they’ve secured the rights to broadcast this year’s World Cup with an aim to offer live coverage of all 28 matches.
BBC Radio 5 Live’s commitment to the sport was further demonstrated by their desire to undertake the Challenge Cup fifth round draw live on air from our Salford studios on Monday.
However, the team responsible do acknowledge in light of your points that they didn’t get the tone of the draw right on air.
The team have discussed this with Richard Bacon himself along with his production team and Richard acknowledges that he got the tone wrong thus he apologises to listeners as he genuinely didn’t mean to upset any Rugby League fans.
Thank you again for getting in touch and allowing us to investigate your concerns with the team directly involved, and to respond.
We very much hope that you will feel reassured as to the BBC’s on-going commitment to Rugby League across BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra, and that you will agree that we have taken your points on board.
We appreciate your concerns on this matter and would like to assure you that we’ve registered your concerns on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's made available to many BBC staff, including our Executive Board and senior management.
The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.
Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.
Kind Regards
Robin MacDonald

| An air brush of a reply in my opinion.
It was a shambles from start to finish and you had to feel sorry for the great Billy Boston having to suffer it.

| I'm thinking of writing a similar letter to BBC Radio Manchester after they allowed Doctor koukash to make a mockery of the league and the Salary cap with his statement today that he "intends to use every Mechanism available to spend over the Salary Cap"

| I suppose he is only saying what others already do. And, if he is using mechanisms then that is ok, as a mechanism is only a process, or way of using the system. If he had said he was going to cheat, like others have done in the past, then you could have a point to make.

did you hear the segment on GMR?...the tone of his voice didnt sound good.....maybe it was his kuwaiti accent but it had a certain defiance about it. But for a guy who has been in the game a couple of months I think he has some brass neck.
It certainly wasnt a "ok the caps the cap we'll stick to that and create a club that players want to join regardless of the amount I can pay them"
Maybe he thinks offering the average NRL star unlimited access to days out on the gee gee's is a great idea.
I have no doubt we used Mechanisms to get Andrew Johns over. as did Bradford with Moz...and immediately those mechanisms were closed. He'll find the same happens again only a bit quicker if he continues with his whinging on the radio to anyone who will listen

Thanks for getting in touch regarding Dr. Marwan Koukash's segment on GMR. We note that you felt the tone of Dr. Koukash's interview was poor and may have been offensive to a long suffering Warrington fan. Here at RLFANS we personally thank you for raising concerns over our new owners approach to the media & the salary cap. We would like to assure you that Dr. Koukash is absolutely committed to finding a way around the cap, legal or not. Koukash explains that he's taken over an absolute balm pot club and in under 2 months without doing anything at all on the pitch he's already got fans of other cheating rascal clubs worried about what he may achieve. He does however acknowledge that his actions however are not what are expected of a chairman new to a sport that has a 'status quo'. Dr Koukash apologies unreservedly and will in future ask the presenters of GMR to pre-warn their listeners that he may say something a little controversial so all the suffering Wire fans like yourself can turn off the radio.
Thank you again for raising your concern here on RLFANS and rest assured Flying Biscuit that in all honesty, we couldn't give a flying f............

Of course Warrington never ever bend the rules.
Tony Smith said the salary cap should be raised only a few months ago and now little old Salford say it should be then that is wrong.
The big four have finally got a new challenger, live with it.

I'm a little uncomfortable with statements like this.
We've challenged nobody yet, let alone the top four Clubs. I feel that some fans are jumping the gun a little and all they do is set themselves (and the rest of us) up for an embarrassing downfall.
Save the boasting for when we are justified to do so.

I'd like to see the Doc tone it down as he runs the risk of taking us to the levels of people's dislike of Warrington.
