Mike Forshaw could be a key appointment for the club, he's currently a defence coach for Connacht in the Irish Magners league. Looking at the league table their position (9th) isn't great but their points against doesn't seem too bad considering they have only conceeded 46 points more than the top team after 19 rounds.
I think we have needed a defence coach for some time and hopefully he help to tighten us up.
Article about him here thats worth a read.
[uExtract[/u
[i"One of Mike's strengths was his technical work in both the tackle and wrestle areas. We found this hugely beneficial, particularly in the off-season. He is a fantastic motivator and always got the best out of players.[/i

| Sounds much better than anything we've had before. Nice to see the Dr wants more bodies on the backroom staff. More experience and skills will pay off in the long run.

| Now we just need the crowds to support the infrastructure.
I'm sure it will improve once we start winning and signing better players.

| From MEN:
"David Lyon, the former Warrington player who was key figure in Noble's GB set-up, could be set to join the Reds in a part-time coaching capacity, while John Pendlebury, the former Wigan and Halifax player who is another experienced coach, is another option.
Conditioning roles could be fulfilled by Mike Forshaw and Paul Johnson who have also worked with Noble in the past and won his trust."

| I have never understood why Union teams need defensive coaches given that the vast majority of points are scored from penalties and most of the defending consists of sitting on top of each other.
Anyway, agree with the sentiment above about us having more backroom staff.

| I'm glad were getting a defensive coach, happy that we are keeping Hunt & Long along with additional conditioning staff.
I'd personally like to see Nobles first piece of business to get the Doc to get his cheque book out to take Griffin off Leeds hands.

Good news if it is Dave Lyon I know he had been poorly a while back, It'll be nice to see him back in the game.
I always thought the bit in the great britain down under tour documentary with him showing Noble how to wrestle was very funny.
