It is with great sadness that I am posting this, but the once great lady has finally started to come down, the shed roof is now no more, I for one am absolutely gutted.

That can't be true, we are disbanding as a SL team and relocating back to the lower divisions as the Weaste Reds and will soon be playing at the Willows again.

Oh wait never let the truth get in the way of a decent rumour

TBH ,
it had been raining rust down on us for years until it was replaced entirely in 2000's so the roof they've ripped down can't be more than 6-7 years old.
the posh ' main stand had been burn't down twice since the 80's .

I think the next time I travel down Weaste Lane and Brian Snape's North Stand is missing that will hit me hardest , it's where I first started watching the team from.

mmm I passed before and I'll be honest I got a little choked up at the sight!



Remember!

I have no intention of ever returning to the Willows as I cannot bear the thought of seeing a place full of so many memories and fine sporting moments turned into a housing estate. It will forever be the wonderful place I grew up watching my team, alongside my dad, brothers, two best mates, and finally my boys. I had some bad times there, but also some of the absolute best. I know it was only bricks and mortar but the thought of it not being there still seems strangely absurd.

Can I ask that any photos of a half-demolished ground be flagged up in advance...

A little harder for those of us brought up on Weaste lane and the place your mum still lives. Still not got over the missing church yet never mind gods house on Willows road.

A day we always knew would come, but hoped never would. My heart sank when I heard the news I won't go near Weaste Lane again (If I don't have to!). Spent the best day's of my life in that ground and in the tavern/variety centre where I met people I will never forget and nights I won't forget either, A black day in the history of Salford.

I'm glad any pictures will be flagged I really don't want to see that old lady in that state
some of my best memories where made in that place met some of my closest friends.
Rip the shed

The roof is off. I would have taken a photo but there was a few young kids playing around in the line of sight, guarded by a mother hen. Didn't want to be mistaken for a paedo. Again.

Yeah seen it this morning when I dropped the kids off at their grans. It's hard to look at.

The Shed has gone and the barriers have been removed from the North Stand. I spoke to one of the builders and he said the whole place will be gone in four weeks. The clubhouse end is next, so you'll be able to watch as they demolish the rest of it.
