Fighting on the terraces at Belle View last night, according to my Wakey supporting mate it was like a warzone.

Hot weather seems to bring 'em out. Had a relative who used to police the football terraces in the 70s and 80s, always used to say "best policeman in the world is rain - nobody wants to fight in the rain". Reckoned they could halve the police numbers if they knew it was going to pour down.

It was disgraceful, but your Wakey supporting mate is over-stating it a bit, unless the 'warzone' that he's likening it to consisted of a few drunken scrotes having a running scuffle.

I hope that everyone involved is identified, banned from their respective stadia and reported to the police; we don't need this at our club or in the game as a whole.

Nothing like blowing it out of proportion to try and make your rivals look bad is there?

Of course I'm forgetting that you support the club with the best behaved fans on the planet.

Its always going to have the potential to kick off at Wakefield due to the fact that the wakey numbskulls are allowed to spend most of the game at the bar then walk through the away fans - usually stopping to goad them when i've been - thus creating tension, It happens every year with us and yet we have NEVER seen a steward anywhere it when it starts getting ugly.

In fact plenty of fans from different clubs i've spoke to have also had this problem there too.

Alcohol + Heat + Not Many Brain cells = Violence. When the weather is above 20 degrees I think an IQ test should be required before alcohol is allowed to be served. Anything below 90 and you're on pop.

I'd be very surprised if a fine was not forthcoming. Not what we (or the game as a whole) need. Poor stewarding combined with a few people who could not take their beer by the sounds of it but it will cost the club dearly. There did seem to be a few people who captured the incident on film/mobile phone etc so hopefully both clubs will be able to identify the responsible people and ban them.

You are right about the equation you posted.

A reminder to all who only blame the wakey fans - it takes two to tango. However our stewarding is embarrassingly slow and as a wakey fan I expect changes

If this is the only thing the Cas fans have to crow about us these days we must be doing ok.
Starting a thread about something you didn't see seems a bit desparate.

Saying that. I hope all those involved are banned. Not good enough. We are making great strides on and off the field and a few drunken idiots set it all back a few steps.
