| I don't understand why they don't seek investment from Man Utd players. They could buy the club for a couple of week's wages.

| What? This can't be right. Another wealthy investor interested in buying a club? I thought the salary cap, licensing and the incompetence of anyone and everyone who has ever worked at the RFL had scared them all away.

| ...if this guy decides against buying into Salford what happens next? They will have already started the season by the time the winding up action returns to court, so will the RFL offer them the same assistance as they did Bradford?
Let's hope this guy buys into them... the more smart and wealthy owners the game gets can only be good in the long run. He won't want to be bankrolling them endlessly, so will look to make them self sufficient and maybe even profitable in a short space of time.
When IL took over Wigan they were averaging about 14k...he's got them up to as near as damn it to 17k in 5 years..20% Growth and at about 30 quid a pop on tickets and residuals, just shy of another 1.2 million on their turn over as well.......smart owners, who know what they are doing may well be the best thing for this game.

| By the way . I hope the Reds come out of this ok . Would hate to see any team go under . And before anyone questions the sincerity of my best wishes towards the Reds may I state that I am a Loiner . Not just any Loiner , but one that was prepared to go to a lot of effort to help our nearest and dearest The Bulls out when they were in trouble .

| Hope he invests, and has the clubs interests at heart too. Salford could be a successful club, but really need investment and to be run better.

| Just read the link, his paddock at Haydock is stunning by the way, the track lights up at night by huge LED's, it used to be a run down old farm but now it's state of the art. Just off the East Lancs at Haydock Island.
This fellas got some dough, hope he gets invlved.

| If they survive, their squad stands at:
[uSalford City Reds[/u
Coach: Phil Veivers
In
2013: Andrew Dixon (St Helens), Martin Gleeson (Unattached).
Out
2013: Matty Smith (Wigan Warriors), Joel Moon (Leeds Rhinos), Daniel Holdsworth (Hull FC), Sean Gleeson (Hull Kingston Rovers), Iafeta Palea'aesina (XIII Limoux), Luke Towers, Vinnie Anderson (AS Carcassonne), Luke Adamson (Bath RU), Andy Morris, Adam Walne (Workington Town), Adam Sidlow (Bradford Bulls), Josh Veivers (Ipswich Jets), Luke Patten (Retirement).
There squad at the minute stands at:
Jodie Broughton, Danny Williams, Lee Jewitt, Wayne Godwin, Matty Ashurst, Ryan Boyle, Shannon McPherson, Stephen Wild, Chris Nero, Ashley Gibson, Adam Neal, Ben Gledhill, Jordan James, Marc Syed, Gareth Owen, Stuart Howarth, Theo Fages, Martin Gleeson, Andrew Dixon
Then a few u19s
Niall Evalds, Will Hope, Tom Whitehead, Callum Marriott, Adam Hewitt, Adam Flies, Dan Brotherton, Jordan Walne, Adam Dyball, Alex Davidson, Ben Massey
That is if they were kept hold of at the end of last season.

| Obviously we all hope that they survive! I really hope this isnt a false dawn and they have picked this chaps name from a list of local wealthy men who are already involved within sport.
Saying that, looking at their squad this year would almost be a write off and big changes to be made next season. That outgoing list is quite incredible. Talk about being gutted.
