| Because Leeds United are at home that weekend. I confirmed this on the Leeds board a few weeks ago about the venue.

If they were to use Elland Rd they'd have to pay rent and I'd imagine Elland Rd would take some or all profits from food and beverage or hospitality suites or both. If its at Elland Rd there's more tickets to sell, so the Rhinos would have to pay more for advertising.
Plus, there's the issue of that upper tier, which Elland Rd didn't open for the 2009 4N's final and only partially opened for this year's final. That restircts the capacity, reducing the Rhinos' income.
If its at Headingley there's no rent and they get all profits from... well everything.
I'd have thought the Rhinos want to be a bit careful with their money after they had to put the South Stand renovation on hold due to financial concerns.

The Rhinos wouldn't have to pay for any advertising or operational costs. The WCC is an RFL fixture and they are the ones responsible for promotion and ticketing. The RFL will be paying rent to Leeds Rhinos for the use of Headingley.
I thought the postponement of the South Stand was more due to logistical / operational issues rather than financial reasons?

Oh right, I wasn't aware of that. How bizarre.
Still better for the money to go to a RL club than a soccer club.

See the post two above yours.
Elland Road was not available that weekend, irrespective of cost.

| Poor choice for me personally. I have been the past 3 that leeds have played at Elland Road and it's always been good seeing all different supporters from different clubs watching the game. I think now its at headingley it wont have the same feel to it

| If Elland Road is unavailable then it's pretty much unavoidable, but it's a shame that the game won't be at a bigger ground. I was hoping that it would be the Sunday evening at Elland Road so that it can be combined with going to an afternoon Championship game, but hopefully there will be a good turnout regardless.
