With a fat clause in there making him available to SL clubs without restriction, or something material? I know this should be a reason to be cheerful, but I'm getting used to us being a relatively insignificant force in the game.

I would be surprised if that was in this time. I can't see much point of OB, Gaskell etc signing new deals, but asking for that release clause so they can play SL. They're contracts run out and i'm sure they could sign for SL teams if they wanted at the end of this year. I get the feeling OB genuinely wants to be here even if we are in the championship.

Even at the very worst that clause is in (which i personally don't think it will be) and he plays 1 season then that clause is activated, that is 1 more year than we were all expecting as i think most had resigned to the fact the likes of OB, Gaskell would be gone if we didn't get promoted. This signing could be the first step in getting a feel good feeling back at the Bulls.

Well with the season we've had, a new a coach coming in (which was needed) and our star home grown hooker signing for 3 years, it will certainly give everyone a lift. Like i said, hopefully this will encourage a few others to follow and sign up.

One of the better things about next year is that some of those two year deals, from two years ago, and I'm particularly thinking about the ones where the player involved has barely, if at all, put on a Bulls' shirt, will be finished. Which should leave us with some extra cash to play with - assuming we can keep, within reason, the support base.

Great news,plays with heart and a love for the shirt. We should keep going with more of our young juniors like Oates and Ryan. They were solid at Dewsbury.
