I'm not taking away from Leeds, we lost fair and square.

But I just thought I would ask, why was Lomax penalised for playing on?????

Whether or not he was tackled, I thought the ruling now was that if the player with the ball plays on incorrectly the ref just tells them to go back to the mark.

So how come for the first time this season we got penalised???

No that's if he offloads it after being called held, ref can send him back. If he was tackled (I didn't see clearly) and played on its a penalty.

He passed it to Lance so that's an offload to me. I just thought it was incredibly harsh after a season of refs telling players to go back to the mark to suddenly penalize.

There was almost a carbon copy of that with Ablett later on, to me they looked the same, the tackler falls off as the player hits the deck. I'm not too bothered about one being called held and the other not, as it's tricky and split second for the ref. Just not necessary to penalize when he could have just reset the play from the mark.

Was a harsh call for sure. Made up by the lomax knock on that never was in 2nd half.

The ref got it badly wrong.... tackle was incomplete. It should have been play on.

Someone else got penalised for the same thing a couple of weeks ago.

Bad call by the ref but that's rugby.

There were plenty of penalties Bentham could and should have given, at the play the ball, but he didn't, that's Rugby!

I get that it was a bad call and it happens. Hence I'm not using it as an excuse. It just seemed strange to penalize when mostly that is now treated as a reset play the ball.

I thought Bentham had a poor game & missed too many straight forward spots. Lomax should never have been penalised, he got it wrong. Lomas clearly got his hand to the ball before hacking it downfield, he got that wrong. Sutcliffe didn't strip or knock the ball on late in the game from the Saints player (not sure who it was) he just lost it, he got that wrong. I thought all three of those should have been spotted by a first grade ref & while ref's do make mistakes he was not good enough yesterday IMO.

It was a great performance from Saints last night. I think had we not met at this stage we might have seen another Leeds v Saints final TBH. I think Saints have showed how valuable momentum is when it ones to he business end of the season.

I think against a team with decent halves, we where always going to come unstuck. But to come unstuck by one point exceeded my expectations.

Maguire looked poor last night. I'm a big fan of his but I think he's on his way out. They got great replacement in the young lad who covered him when he was out.
