| As a Waky fan i was very upset the day Jay joined Leeds but for some reason it seems he hasn't kicked on from being at a bigger/better/professional club, any thoughts on this or is he injured at the moment ?

He looked pretty promising in a couple of games last season... But then was constantly overlooked because of the likes of the fearsome Kirke. This season it's the rip em up, menacing Hauraki that keeps him on the sidelines.

| I honestly thought we'd loaned him out somewhere.

| Hope we loan him out somewhere so he gets some experience. He had a decent game against Crusaders last year but hasn't really looked good enough to push on to be a first team regular.
I think he does have the makings of a skillfull back rower but he seems quite lightweight.

| Alot of traffic in the back row spots at Leeds. Nothing to be ashamed of. Be nice to see him play gametime somewhere, he's a decent lad.

Yes, he has a good pair of hands and is a clever footballer but not sure he has the size, aggression, engine or dynamism for a top flight back rower.
As you say, at the back of the queue in the one area we have the most depth unfortunatley for him.

| I think it is more to do with McLennan and then the change of coach.
He was actually signed to be a Prop going forward. Not that personally I ever thought he would be a prop, as his qualities are his hands and footwork and more suited to backrow/loose. However, he has kind of got stuck in limbo in that the club forgot about the development of a role for him, and he himself has probably regressed because of it.

| If he - and Ambler also - aren't going to get picked unless we have a lot of injuries, we'd be better letting them go elsewhere. In the case of Pitts probably permanently because I doubt he'll ever be first choice. Ambler's a more difficult one - Leeds have let a number of young props go through the years who have physically matured into very good players. Then again, I haven't seen him play for a long time, so he could just be a pudding.

| I think he and Ambler will be gone before the season is out.
What i've seen of Pitts i thought he looked decent enough and especially in the u20's but he's not someone i'd pick before Ablett ,Jjb ,Clarkson ,Delaney ,Hauraki and i'd even switch one of our props there before calling him up.
It's interesting that the club have switched Daniel Smith and Brad Singleton positions with Smith now at prop and Singleton taking the 13/BR slot hopefully both will continue to play to their undoubted potential.

What exactly did he do wrong in the few opportunities he got in the first team last season ? He looked quite useful in the second row...and I have a vivid memory of him and Buderus getting back to defend the line against a 'certain try' from opposition (I can't remember which team).
He might be behind the likes of JJB, Ablett and Clarkson....but I'd rather the likes of Pitts be developed than the likes of Hauraki (nothing personal) and even Delaney.
Without a doubt Pitts - and Ambler - would have been a better choice to retain over the likes of the older, less talented (or am I wrong?) Kirke.

| My biggest concern about Pitts as a back-rower in senior grade is his bulk. He looks a decent athlete though and I'd like to see him playing more.
That said, I don't see the players in training every day. Which is one of the many reasons I don't pick the team...
