I worked as a Fitter at Courtaulds for a couple of years when Bob was an Overlooker there.
It was never safe to go to the loo when Bob was on shift -- a soaking with cold water over the door was likely if he spotted you going in to the loo !
I Also played a few Second team games at Miners with him and was in awe of him.
As Ian says, loads of laughs along the way.
Thanks for the memories Bob, Rest in Peacel.
Was told yesterday morning. Bob and Paul always had time for me when I was at the Miners. When I first started I played in a Shaw Cup semi for the Colliers with Bob against the Vic who had Paul in their team. What an eye opener that was to the two brothers. I have bundles of memories of Bob as do a lot on here and I will hold them dear for ever. Gutted.
He will will be with with my dad, his cousin, on their allotment up there. Both then going to the New Inn for a pint on their bikes.
RIP Robert.
